Potter’s Wheel

With guest potter Martin Stephens you will have demonstrations and be taken through the skills on the potter’s wheel where you will have an opportunity to throw your own pots. You can choose your favourite two to leave with us to fire and glaze.

Hand Sculpted Mug

With our very own Georgie Bird, you will be taken stage by stage to hand build a mug that you add a handle, then decorate how you would like. You can add underglazes and coloured slips then leave with us to fire in the kiln and collect with your other hand thrown pots created in the potter’s wheel workshop.

For both workshops you may be new to pottery or have some experience, either way you are most welcome. Cost is £150/person for the full day.

For lunch we can take pre-orders for delicious food at Hips Café at the Littledean Tap in the village or you are welcome to bring your own. We will have complimentary hot and cold refreshments available throughout the day.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience two different elements of pottery.

During the day, individuals will try throwing on the potter’s wheel as well as hand building a mug with your own creative and individual design.

There are 12 places available – six in each group who then swap after lunch. Each will either try potter’s wheel in the morning then making their mug in the afternoon or vice versa. This is a full experience to immerse yourself in the world of pottery. A great workshop for those who would like to relax and have fun as well as for those who are interested in pottery and the potential of taking it further.
