Ideal for beginners and experienced artists alike, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to craft beautiful clay cake slices using traditional hand-building techniques. Guided by a skilled artist, you will learn to shape, decorate, and personalise your clay creations, transforming a simple lump of clay into a charming masterpiece.

Folk Art Inspired Candle Holder Workshop ..or.. Garden Scene on a Tile
Wednesday 13th August 2 - 4pm
Join this hand-building workshop, suitable for beginners and experienced artists. This workshop provides an opportunity to create a holder for one pillar candle or tealight to be decorated with flowers, leaves and other additions using traditional hand-building techniques. Participants will learn to shape, decorate, and personalise their clay pieces, creating a beautiful folk inspired candle holder. We are also offering the ‘Create a Garden Scene on a Tile’ at the same time for younger ones or if you would prefer to make this (see image below Clay Workshop for All).
Suitable for all ages, under 14 accompanied by an adult who can also pay and join in if required.

Seasonal Workshops
Autumn Wreath Workshop
Saturday 20th September 2-5pm
Perfect as a taster for beginners, you have some experience or just enjoy being creative. The workshop will guide you through hand-building with clay to create and decorate your own unique pieces. We will guide you to learn essential techniques and tips for working with clay, ensuring your creations are both beautiful and durable. After you have created and decorated your wreath, it will be glazed and fired in the kiln, transforming it into a stunning piece to be hung inside or outside for Autumn or all year round. This hands-on experience is a fantastic opportunity to explore your creativity, have fun, and discover the joy of working with clay.
Cost for this workshop £50 for 3hrs
Sorcerer/Witch/Sorting Hat
You will be guided to create your own hat in the shape and design that you choose. You can decorate with a face or add embellishments such as stars or flowers then paint with any coloured glazes you choose.
Pinch pot Pumpkin
Come and make your own pinch pot into a pumpkin which you can style as your own. You may go realistic, decorative or even add a funny face. You will be given all the tools and guidance to create your pumpkin to then paint with coloured glazes,
Leave your hat or pumpkin with us to be fired and collect at a later date. Both workshops are suitable for all ages, under 16 yrs to be accompanied by an adult who can also book a place and join in.

Clay Workshops for All
Come along to our clay building workshop. These workshops are for all ages and abilities, we request under 16 years are accompanied by an adult. You may have some or no experience of pottery. he workshops are an opportunity to relax and enjoy working with clay to create something that you leave with us to be fired and collected later.
During the workshop you will be given materials and guidance where needed to create your own piece. You will have access to tools, glazes and all resources you need to make your own bespoke piece of pottery.
Look out for dates throughout the year or get in touch if you have a group of four or more and would like to set your own date.

Your very own door in clay to be stoneware fired. Designed by you with a choice to decorate in a variety of styles and colours of your choice. We will guide and inspire as well as provide all materials.
Create Your Own Character Pot
Inspired by Georgie Bird's own whimsical pieces.
You will be guided in creating a slab built cylindrical vase to then decorate with glaze, slips and sculpted additions such as hair, clothing, tattoos or jewellery. You can create a fantasy character, self portrait, a friend or family member. The pots will then be left with us to fire at the pottery. No experience required, this workshop is for over 18 yrs, refreshments will be provided.

Guided Paint Your Own Workshop
A guided Paint Your Own workshop offering skills and techniques to create your own painted images onto a cake plate 16cm diameter. Themes include Canal Art Flowers and Tattoo Design Name Plate

Craft an Enchanting Door Workshop
Discover the magic of clay by creating your own whimsical fairy doors, majestic castle doors, or other delightful entries to imaginative worlds. Using basic tools and techniques, you can shape and mould clay into intricate designs that capture the charm and mystery of these miniature portals. Whether it's a quaint fairy door adorned with tiny leaves and flowers, a creepy castle door complete with ancient runes and ironwork, a fantastical door or the front door of your own house, the possibilities are endless. Once made, you can decorate your handcrafted creations with coloured glazes to leave with us and collect once fired.

All Ages Taster Potter’s Wheel Experience
New date!!! Wednesday 20th August
You will be given a demonstration and step by step through the stages of throwing a pot. You will have a go on the wheel and the chance of making one pot.
Suitable for all ages, under threes can join with an adult.
We run this throughout the year, look out for dates.
Option 1.. £20
Take your pot home to dry –you can decorate it at home with your own acrylic paint and varnish this will just be for decoration and cannot be used.
Option 2.. £25
Leave your pot with us to for the first firing (bisque firing), glazed then fired again. This will then be suitable to be used with water or edible items.
Option 3.. £30
Leave your pot with us at the pottery for the first firing (bisque firing), then you can return on another occasion to decorate your pot at the Paint Your Own Studio, then left with us to be fired again. This will then be suitable to be used with water or edible items.
For Option 2 and 3 it will be about four weeks before the pots are then ready to be collected. Postage can also be arranged for a small fee.
